Tags can be used to label mentions.

  1. How you sort and tag your mentions is up to you, but you can create your tag or tagging groups by clicking on the + button on the right-hand side of the page.
  2. Name your tag, select the associated color, select or create a group tag, and click Save.

  3. To find your tags on a mention, go to one of your monitors. The tags applied to the mention will be displayed. You can also remove or add more tags here.
  4. Once a tag is added, you can go through the tagged mentions by viewing them in the monitor's feed. Or Create a Segment to only show mentions with that tag.
  5. You can add tags to multiple mentions by bulk-selecting your mentions and assigning a tag for all of them.

Auto-tagging

Monitors can do the heavy lifting for you by automatically tagging/sorting your mentions as they are pulled in.

  1. Once your tags are created, you can then create the rules by which the platform will automatically tag your mentions.
  2. Click on the + Create Rule button on the left-hand side of the page, name your tag, and select whether you want the tag applied to all monitors or just a specific one.
  3. Next, create the rules that will control how the system tags your mentions. After your rules are created, select the associated tags and save your preferences. For more information about the different types of rules available, please refer to this section.

💡 When setting up a new auto-tag rule, you have the same functionality as when creating monitor rules. You can begin with a simple rule group that combines each selected rule using the AND operator. For more complex and versatile rule sets, you can create multiple rule groups that combine with other rule groups using the OR operator. This allows you to customize your tagging rules to pull in, or filter out, mentions matching the exact results you’re looking for.
