Is AKTEK iO secure?

AKTEK iO servers are ISO27001 certified with 24/7/365 on-site physical security to protect against unauthorized entry into the server locations (unmarked so as not to draw attention from the outside). All servers have battery and generator backup, as well as generator fuel carrier redundancy. AKTEK, upon client request, can periodically back up client data and store it in a separate location for redundancy purposes.

I activated my account but forgot my password, how can I log in to AKTEK iO or reset it?

There are different options depending on your user permissions. If you are allowed by an AKTEK iO administrator to reset your own password, you will be able to do so by clicking on the Reset password button that appears once you type in the wrong password. Make sure you write the correct email address and follow the instructions.

⚠️ If you don’t have the above option, you can reach out to your administrator or AKTEK support agent for them to send you a link to reset your password. 

I can’t see all the information or see an empty screen, is something not working properly?

If you logged into AKTEK iO and see an empty screen, this could be because of two reasons:

  1. There is no information yet on your system.
  2. Your AKTEK iO administrator created your user but didn’t assign a role for you, meaning you don’t have permission to navigate the uploaded information. 

⚠️ Contact an AKTEK iO administrator if your case is (2) and you need them to assign you a role with adequate permissions. Alternatively, if you see some but not all the information, this might be because you have limited permissions or your permissions haven’t been updated.

Why can’t I see any information when I click a folder or report?

It could be because of two reasons:

  1. The folder is indeed empty and there is no information;
  2. The folder contains reports, but you don’t have permission to view them.

✅ You can ask your AKTEK iO administrator to see which one is your case.

What is the difference between User Groups and User Roles, what are they used for?

User roles are the set of permissions that will limit what each user views and interacts with, while user groups are a way to categorize users to later assign to specific Business Process audiences or select on Reports' automatic fields. 

✅ Based on your User Groups, you will also be able to set up notifications for users on your created Business Processes.

What type of media files are supported in AKTEK iO?

For image files, AKTEK iO supports Bitmap (.bmp), JPEG (.jpg, .jpeg), and PNG (.png).

For video files, AKTEK iO supports: .WEBM, .MP4, .M4P and .M4V.

Can we set up notifications for any action done, or how do notifications work?

In the meantime, you can only set up notifications as a notification task on a Business Process. You will get other automatic notifications from AKTEK iO with a reminder on when your next password change should be done.

Why can’t I see a new report/dashboard or field in a report I just created?

This is because you are not an administrator user of your company. This means each new report/field and dashboard has to be toggled ON by your administrator, to have at least view access.

Is everyone going to see the dashboard/report I created?

Every administrator user will be able to see everything. If you are an administrator, you can select which user role will be able to see specific dashboards or reports. This means that not every user will see your dashboard/report, only the ones with the right role(s).

How can I upload Microsoft Excel data to AKTEK iO?

You will have to make sure you create a Report Structure that looks like your database information. In the Excel file, each column would be a field in your AKTEK iO report structure. Once each column is included, you will be able to Bulk Upload the information into AKTEK iO. We recommend creating the appropriate structure first on AKTEK iO, extracting the Excel template, and copy-pasting data into the AKTEK iO provided template for best results.

Why can’t I just input information into a report linked to a Business Process?

This happens because a Business Process sets the steps and responsible audiences that have to fulfill them. If you are not part of the audience that can complete a specific step, you won’t be able to do so. This assures the integrity of the process and information that was set up. Why does AKTEK iO keep logging me out?

This happens because your AKTEK iO administrator set your company Login session time validity to be short for security reasons. Contact your administrator or modify company settings to make sure this is not the case. If this continues, please contact your AKTEK support contact.

What is the level of GPS location precision in the iQ Areas module?

GPS precision depends on the data source. If location is derived from:

  1. Phone GPS: it will depend on the phone and whether it’s in an open sky or inside a building (5 m most accurate);
  2. Cell tower triangulation: it will depend on the number of cell towers pinged;
  3. IP address: it will be the least accurate.

However, you can exclude signals from any of these sources (i.e. cell tower and IP address) to focus only on accurate data (i.e. Phone GPS). This feature is available under the Forensic Signals tab. You can also choose to include data from all sources when data is low.
