Tag-based Access Control limits access to reports, dashboards, and entries based on a Tag value
By setting an unlimited number of conditions using AKTEK iO's Smart Filters, access to subsets of the data can be restricted to selected users and groups. The resulting subset of the data visible to the user will be the union of all the conditions relevant to itself.
✅ Tag-based access will apply to all reports and not to a selected report. This will help you control the visibility over the complete data set in the whole system. It also applies to dashboards and data structures that are tagged.
Go to Admin > Data Isolation > Tag-Based Access Control
- Click on the + to start adding conditions.
- You can select the conditions that will limit the data your target audience will see. You can select:

Everything: to condition all your data

Everything else: if you have previously created rules to limit access to specific data, you can select this option to condition everything else not covered by prior rules.

Select Tag: set rules based on the value of the tag(s) that will determine what data to limit using the smart filter.

Select the target Audience among the users or a group of users available in your company. You can select one of the following types of audiences:
- Everyone: All users will have restricted access to the report based on the specified conditions
- Everyone else: any users or groups that have not been selected as the target audience
- Select audience: all users or groups of users who are chosen to have restricted access to the report
⚠️ Once you have added an audience and conditions, make sure to select the data that Everyone else will see.
